sruta anumana prajna abhyam anya visaya visesa arthatvat
Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 1.49
That wisdom has special significance and is different from knowledge gained through learning or inference.
sruta = heard (scriptures)
anumana = inference
prajnabhyam = that wisdom
anya = different
visaya = objects of sense
visesa = special
arthatvat = significance
Perhaps this is about those moments when we’re not thinking about anything and an inspiration suddenly seems to pop into our heads, like Archimedes in the bath, the light of wisdom finding the space to shine through the woods of our thoughts and learned knowledge.
