There is a kind of illumination (samadhi) without deliberation where memory is purified, and resting in your own nature, as if empty, there is just the form alone shining.
Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 1.43
smrti = memory
parisuddau = on purification
svarupa = own nature
sunyeva = as if empty
artha = form
matra = alone
nirbhasa = shining
nirvitarka = without deliberation
Maybe we all get glimpses of this. When a beautiful sunset takes your breathe away, for a moment there’s no thought or deliberation, right? Or holding a new born baby ❤️
But beautiful sunsets and new born babies aren’t always around so more accessible ways could be enjoying a cup of tea in the morning, or savouring the first few moments of getting in a hot bath ♨❤️
