Discipline, self-study and devotion to god are yoga in action.

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 2.1

tapah = discipline
svadhyaya = self study
isvara pranidhana = devotion to god
kriya-yoga = yoga in action

I’ve been trying to be disciplined about having a cup of tea and reading a book like the yoga sutras or something similar in our hammock before looking at my phone each morning. Think this also counts as self study; as by doing the same thing every day you can see more clearly how you are as the thing (whatever it is) is not changing. It also feels like devotion to god as I think of it as a ‘good’ thing and almost always feel better for it.

Maybe just as important is to be disciplined about not believing thoughts that I am ‘bad’ if I don’t to it.
