yoga with grace

परमाणु परममहत्त्वान्तोऽस्य वशीकारः

paramanu parama mahattva anto sya vasikarah

One can control from the smallest particle to the infinite.

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 1.40

paramanu = smallest particle
parama mahattva = greatest magnitude
anto = end
sya = his/her
vasikarah = control

This one aroused a few thoughts for me 😊

– A case for duality / the divine’s longing to be human – If you can control absolutely everything at some point surely it would be lonely and you’d long for something ‘other’ than you that isn’t under your control?

– Maybe we are all doing this already, and each of our universes somehow fit and weave together perfectly to form a tapestry of our shared reality.

– Even as humans who haven’t reached samadhi we can get to do this through our imagination or through art. ❤️
